All Sport Skills Training
what we do
ASST is a comprehensive sports training program. These training opportunities not only focus on the technical skill of the sport itself, but also in the life lessons and values that help grow the entire individual.
As the program acronym would imply, ASST, the main focus is not on always going to be centered on how you score the basket, goal, touchdown; but rather what you need to do for your team to achieve the basket, goal or touchdown. The focus is on preparation to compete. Through technical skill development, ASST trainers will emphasize the value of hard work, of paying attention to details, about improving your personal skills and game in turn helping your teammate also improve. If you are the best you can be, and your teammate is the best they can be, and the goal is to want that for each other, then the team is going to be the best it can be.
ASST aims to build self confidence, understanding your sport, the level of responsibility that comes along with being a good teammate, committing to your teammates and fostering a love for healthy competition and the game itself. Not every kid will grow up to be a scholarship athlete, or professional, however their experience in growing up in sport can and should be extremely valuable! Through sports, children can grow to be leaders in their communities or profession, they can develop strong friendships and bonds, and they can grow to be great problem solvers and goal achievers.
Be the very best you can be!

Lead Coach
Tommy Arria is a career educator. Serving the last 21-plus years as a Director of Athletics in mostly large urban schools. He has coached at all levels over his career, college, high school and youth. The consistency in his coaching has always been to invest in your team members, to care about their development, and help them be the best they can be at their sport and beyond.
Tommy’s story starts as most, playing Little League Baseball and Recreation League Basketball. The growth through youth sports and then through high school sports (basketball and track and field) helped him improve, and develop skills. The area that Tommy began to excel at was being a great teammate. This realization did not come to Tommy until he reached college and tried out for and made his college basketball team. Never a scorer, never one to get large amounts of playing time in high school. It was at Emerson College under the tutelage of legendary coach, Hank Smith, that Tommy learned that his value was not in scoring points, not in how much time he played. But what he could do to make his team the best it could be. Tommy became a team leader, a solid teammate, and someone who did all the little things which helped his teammates reach their full potential. Over his 4 years, Emerson College teams would reach their full potential in the landscape of Division 3 New England College Basketball. A 2-year team captain and Unsung Hero and Coach’s Award recipient, Tommy went to practice everyday with the motivation to win running drills and win the practice drills, to push his teammates as hard as they could be pushed, to make himself better and in turn make his teammates better. This is the foundation that ASST is built on. The understanding and realization of your strengths, potential and to seek out the highest level of ability you have and where that will take you.
ASST will not guarantee you a college scholarship, or that you will average 3 goals a game, or 25 points. However, no matter what level of technical skill an individual has, learning in the ASST method will no doubt impact their future successes in all areas of life. We aim to use sports, skill and team development drills and strategies to guide each individual in being the best they can be.
